Learning Support
Tutoring System
Japanese students act as tutors to provide individual support to international students when they first enroll, to help them quickly become accustomed to life, study, and research in Japan.
The students eligible for this system are international students who are planning to enroll at our university for more than three months and who have been issued a residence card. In principle, the applicable period and number of hours are as follows:
| Undergraduate International Students (Regular Students) | 1 year after enrollment (80 hours of support) |
|---|---|
| Graduate Students (Regular Students) | 6 months in Japan (20 hours of support) |
| MEXT Scholarship Students (MEXT Research Students) | 6 months in Japan (20 hours of support) |
| All international students who plan to enroll for more than three months and who have been issued a residence card | 1 month after arriving in Japan (15 hours of support) |
Examples of Specific Support
To provide support to ensure that students’ academic and research activities at our university proceed smoothly.
?To explain academic content that international students may not fully understand, and to serve as an advisor by proofreading their Japanese writing when they prepare experiment and practical training reports.
?To help international students understand daily life, culture, and society in Japan through clear explanations.
If the tutor you have been assigned is not suitable for you, please do not hesitate to contact Supervisor.
